We understand that some of our international patients may have reservations about visiting us based on media reports about the coronavirus outbreak we are now experiencing in Spain.
As health professionals our priorities are clear. The well being of our patients is foremost and we achieve this by being transparent in everything we do from sharing information to answering any questions you may have.
How does Clínica Tambre guarantee my safety?
We would like to take this opportunity to reiterate, coming to Tambre is safe.
We have been working extremely hard since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic to minimalize the effects of the contagion in the clinic. You can learn more about our response to the pandemic here: Welcome back to Tambre, we have missed you so much!
To ensure safety and promote social distancing we have converted one of our terraces into a waiting room and we perform both PCR swab and antibody tests on our health personnel on an ongoing basis.
We now leave more space between appointments to avoid crowds and we attempt to answer enquiries as fully as possible by telephone or online. We are also fortunate with the location of our clinic; the quiet residential neighbourhood of El Viso is a place of tranquillity and does not attract large crowds.
Your First Visit
We want your first clinic visit to be as stress free as possible. Conscious of any doubts you may have at the present time we have decided to reinvent the First Clinic Visit experience. This initiative enables patients to take the first steps with us in a single, efficient day which includes;
- A complementary ride from the airport in one of taxis
- An appointment with a fertility specialist from our Medical Team
- An appointment with a person from the Patient Care Team
- Tests required before starting treatment – in addition to those that you bring such as laboratory tests, seminogram, ultrasound, endometrial biopsy and so on
- We do advise patients should ideally bring a negative swab test result from their home country taken no more than 48 hours before. If someone needs for some reason to have an additional PCR before their return, it should be noted that this can be done at our centre for €150.
Do I have to take any steps to travel to Spain or return to my country?
As a Tambre patient, you should also know that our Patient Care is up to date with the latest news regarding the restrictions that each country has regarding international mobility. At the present time, the requirements are as follows:
United Kingdom: mandatory quarantine for 14 days
Ireland: mandatory quarantine for 14 days
If your country is not on this list, you should contact our coordinators who will provide you with the relevant information. They will also help you with your trip and the steps you must follow to fly to Spain. If you are already a patient with us and require treatment which requires a visit lasting more than one day, our team will help you find accommodation in one of the hotels we use regularly alongside any details regarding safety measures they have in place or any restriction of capacity and activities that are currently in operation.
We work with fertility experts in most countries to ensure international patients feel safe when they travel. In the UK we work closely with the International Fertility Company. Its Managing Director, Andrew Coutts says, “Tambre has been working hard since the beginning of the pandemic to ensure patients were able to return as soon as it was safe to do so. They have put in place several safety procedures for both staff and patients which adhere to social distancing and maintain very high hygiene standards. The Patient Care Team facilitates safe travel to and from the clinic and can arrange accommodation if a stay is required”.
Is traveling to Spain safe?
The increase in infections has arisen in part due to the increase of trackers, who are employed to identify and contact those who have been in close proximity to anyone who has tested positive for coronavirus. Although this initiative increases in the number of cases, it manages to quarantine those people who have the virus (even asymptomatic) in order to control the epidemic and try to stop contagion.
The Spanish Government has taken various mandatory measures that are designed to restrict and stop viral transmission. Before you visit us we wanted to make you aware of some of these which include the mandatory use of a mask in all public spaces (indoor or outdoor); it is also likely that when you enter spaces like shops and restaurants you will have your temperature taken and have to apply antibacterial gel. At present it is also forbidden to eat on public transport.
We ask you to apply the maximum respect to these measures, since the containment of the virus rests in the active collaboration and responsibility of us all.
